INDABA

INDABA is a warm-hearted children’s concert about questions like: How does it feel to be Finnish, or African? How do many identities fit into one person? Who is the best person to tell someone’s story? Our trio believes that the best expert and storyteller is that person themselves.

INDABA is an isiZulu word for a discussion where the right people meet at the right moment to figure out things that concern them.

Let’s have an indaba!

ABOUT

This performance is inspired by Mona Eid and Koko Hubara’s Third Culture Kids Suomi book (2022). Our piece is based on an understanding of identity as a diverse, fluid and pluralistic thing that lives and grows as we do. Each person is many things at the same time and we don’t need to choose between this or that aspect of belonging.

INDABA showcases ways of living, breathing and making art which are deep, light, rich and simple – like a human being.
